Compare the best brokers, banks, crypto exchanges and forex brokers in Sweden for 2026. Only Finansinspektionen-regulated platforms reviewed.
Sweden's financial markets are regulated by Finansinspektionen (FI), the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority, which oversees banks, investment firms, insurance companies, and pension funds. Sweden is an EU member but uses the Swedish Krona (SEK) rather than the euro, and has one of the world's highest levels of household participation in equity markets.
Investor compensation in Sweden is provided by the Insättningsgarantin and Investerarskyddet, covering investment claims up to €20,000 per investor and bank deposits up to €100,000. Sweden also has the ISK (Investeringssparkonto) — a unique tax-advantaged investment account where returns are taxed based on a flat 'schablonintäkt' (standardised return) rate rather than on actual capital gains — significantly reducing the tax burden for long-term investors.
The ISK account (Investeringssparkonto) is the most tax-efficient vehicle for Swedish individual investors — available through most Swedish brokers including Avanza and Nordnet (both Swedish-founded). Avanza and Nordnet together serve the majority of Swedish retail investors. International platforms like DEGIRO, XTB, and Interactive Brokers are also popular for global market access.
All platforms listed for Sweden are regulated by Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finansinspektionen) or are passported into Sweden under EU MiFID II / ESMA rules. We do not list unregulated or offshore brokers.
