The Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) is one of the most active in the Caribbean and has consistently ranked among the world's best-performing stock exchanges in recent years. Jamaica uses the Jamaican Dollar (JMD).
The JSE has shown remarkable performance and is home to major Jamaican companies across banking (NCB, Scotiabank Jamaica), telecoms (Digicel, Flow), and consumer goods. The JSE Junior Market provides a platform for smaller companies and has attracted many new listings. The Deposit Insurance (DI) Act protects bank deposits up to JMD 1.2 million (approximately USD 8,000).
Jamaica's investment culture is growing rapidly, with JSE's online trading platform and several new brokerage firms expanding retail access. For international market exposure, Jamaican investors use USD accounts at institutions like NCB Capital Markets or Mayberry Investments (which offers US stocks access). Crypto adoption is also growing, with platforms like Cointree and international exchanges like Coinbase accessible via international wire. Capital gains on JSE-listed shares are not taxable in Jamaica.
All platforms listed for Jamaica are regulated by FSC Jamaica or are internationally regulated brokers accepted locally. We do not list unregulated or offshore-only brokers.
